This collaborative project is particularly poignant for Dumfries since it honours one of our most famous residents on the 250th anniversary of his birth. Drawing on some of the ‘weel kent’ melodies of the songs of Robert Burns, Victoria Fifield’s soulful fiddle sound blends beautifully with Graeme Stephen on Guitar, Tom Gi bbs on Piano and Euan Burton on bass. Having recently featured on Radio Scotland’s ‘Jazz House’ programme, this band’s thoughtful interpretations are sure to melt the heart of Burnsians and jazz fans alike.
